Home Again!!!
I just got home from Seattle last night, after a too short visit to my friend gathering house (maybe too short for me, but just long enough for her I imagine). It was so wonderful and relaxing. I totally needed that little break from reality. Jack came with me for the visit, and we had such a wonderful time. We went swimming, did a little IKEA, and visited their new condo. I was also able to see Ani (my favorite singer) on Friday. Ani and Katherine are a yearly tradition for me. It was so good to go and just sit outside and bask in the music. I think of an Ani concert as kind of a recharge for my soul. This year my soul has been drained pretty hardcore, and the battery light was blinking rapidly by the time we got to the concert, but it was worth the wait.

In other news Jack is on the brink of crawling. It is a scary prospect. We have been kiddy proofing the house, but we aren't even close to done yet. He is a like a heat seeking bomb... Only instead of heat it is stuff he shouldn't have. For right now simply moving it two feet away has a been enough... But not for long. He can see he has a look that tells you "I love trouble." fortunately, it works on that boyish face.

Hippy Dippy Jack
This was just too cute for words. Jack is finally big enough for Aunt Jessica's little baby tribute to her years in Ashland. Our little rocker! The only thing that could make this outfit better was if he fit into his baby checker board vans or black hi-top cons. While he is big, he's not quite that big yet.

Celebrate!
As a celebration of Chris and I living to see Jack turn 6 months old (and this is his "official" 6 month picture--until we can get to a picture place), we went out on a date last night! It was really great. We went to dinner and stuffed ourselves (Cheesecake Factory--Thank you very much), had coffee afterwards at Starbucks, and went to a movie. We saw The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. It was nice watching something that required no thinking, and made us laugh very hard. Not the strongest plot I've ever seen, but funny none the less. Chris and I promised to make it a monthly event. Trust me, I needed it!

In other news we had Jack's 6 month appointment today. He weighs 20 pounds, and is 28 inches long. I can't believe how much he has grown. Actually, that's not true. I believe it everytime I feel my knees giving out as I try to pick him up. I guess what I can't believe is how quickly it has happened. Chris says that when he looks at Jack he now sees a little boy-- Like a vision of what he is going to be like as a toddler, or a 5 year old. I can see it too. Our little family. Our son. Our traditions. You can see it all his is little face.

A Gift for Mom--
This is a picture of Jack attempting to eat the flower Chris was attempting to have Jack hand to me (because how cute would that be--Of course, how cute is this). So just a quick update here. Thing are great. Jack is rolling over like a rolling fool. He won't sit still for even a minute, and recently attempted to roll out of his bouncing chair (not a good idea by the way... Not when you are strapped in). He will be 6 months tomorrow, and goes in for this 6 month appointment on Tuesday. I can't believe how fast time is flying. In other news, Chris and I are preparing for a Yard Sale, and realizing that we have a lot of Junk. We are also frantically trying to complete all that stuff you have to do before school starts, and things get really busy-- You know, like preparing the room you sister is going to be living in, finishing up lesson plans, and cleaning like a mad woman. It makes you realize two very important things-- Summer goes way too fast, even when it feels like it is dragging by, and I deserve a spa day.
