Good News

I just wanted to write you all, and let you know that we FINALLY had our appointment with the nurologist. While the doctor still couldn't tell us what was wrong, or what may have caused the episodes, he was able to eliminate seizures as a possibility. He gave us a list of complicated names that "may be the cause," and told us that we should just watch him to see if it happens again. Normally news like that would have sent me into a tail spin, but he also said that developmentally Jack is right on track, and doing wonderful. He said that if anything major was wrong, his motor skills and verbal skills would have been the first to show signs... And Jack is talking (yelling, grunting, and screaming) up a storm... Let alone the fact that he crawling all over the place, and pulling himself up onto everything. The only issue the do see is that his head is growing at a slightly faster rate than his body. Once again, this could be cause by many things, including all the big heads on my side of the family. And he definately has my head. Round, chubby cheeks (even when we've lost weight), and a constant double chin. So who knows. Once again... We'll watch it.

So thank you all for your warm wishes, thoughts, and prayers. We are doing great, getting into trouble, and growing like a weed.

PS--The picture is from a few weeks ago... Just before we went to the pumpkin patch. Jessica says the hat makes him look like the guitarist from U2. Chris thinks it makes him look like he has a huge head. Which, as we established, he does.

I had to get these pictures up as soon as possible, simply because I have already had several requests to see them. So yesterday was Jack's first halloween. It was so stupid, but I as really excited about the whole thing. Something about creating a tradition really gets to me. Jack was a lion. He even roared a couple of times. He was so cute in his little costume, and was a big hit at all the houses we visited. Plus we got a lot of candy, which was good news for Chris, Jess, and I.

As for life here... Things are very good. We celebrate little milestones everyday. For example... Jack now has 5 teeth. I would post a picture, but he will not let anyone look at them. They only reason I even know they are there is because he has bit me several times. He also now waves bye-bye, claps his hands, will sit still for most of a story, says ma ma and da da, can pull himself up and navigate along the sofa, giggles at everything, and grunts and puffs up his chest like a manly man. He is such a cutie.

As far as the "eye rolling," he hasn't had an episode since we left the hospital. We have a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks, where hopefully we can finally put the thing to rest. I personally want to be done worring about it.

In other news, Chris and I are about to take a huge step, and leave Jack with a sitter for the weekend. It is our 5 year anniversary, and we figured that it was about time for us to escape. I personally really need it. I am tired, and need a weekend to just relax. Hopefully this will provide a much needed recharge.
